Mozilla aims to eliminate social media’s white noise with ‘Raindrop’

Mozilla Foundation, the canny souls who brought us (among other things) Firefox, have just announced a new tool under development, currently titled Raindrop.

Raindrop is designed to overcome many of the problems facing those experiencing daily information overload from their various social media websites, mail providers and messaging services, which until now have provided no straightforward and effective method of eliminating unwanted content, or giving people the ability to prioritise and rank the messages based on criteria such as sender and subject matter.

It’s in the early stages of development at present, but there’s certainly a demand for this kind of application and with the weight of Mozilla pushing its development, Raindrop may very well be one to watch.
